Cutty Sark Ship
Hada was retained consultant on the restoration of the Cutty Sark Ship from 2005.
The Grade I listed ship and dry dock required a site survey in addition to guiding the Cutty Sark Trust and design team through many years of design development during the renovation, plus contributing to a to develop an interim access and interpretation strategy, and a long term strategy post-occupation.
We have provided on-going design advice and review of proposals, working with Grimshaw and YouMeHeShe Architects, and writing design and access statements in support of Planning and Building Control applications, and HLF funding applications.
Services have also included working with the Cutty Sark Trust running public consultation events specifically with local people with disabilities and running a test visit prior to opening.
As part of the final phase of services we assisted with the interpretation strategy to develop an imaginative, inclusive and memorable trip to the ship.
